You don’t get more bad boy than being a serial killer but for some reason, Days of Our Lives fans can’t get enough of Formerly-Batty Ben and good girl Ciara — the ultimate CIN.
That’s probably because the writers at DAYS have crafted such a compelling story that doubles as a throwback to not just any supercouple from the 1980s but to Ciara’s (Victoria Konefal) own parents — Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso).
And the stakes are kicked up a notch because we saw Ben’s “sins” play out and they’re forever burned (pun intended) into our brains.
Sure, Bo wasn’t nearly the bad boy that serial killer Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) is, but Bo didn’t start off as the hero he grew into either.
Bo was rough around the edges and probably a little too old for sweet, innocent, and looking-for-trouble Hope.
Bo rode a motorcycle, was in the merchant marines — and took out Steve’s (Stephen Nichols) eye with a knife in a fight over a woman they both loved. He was trouble and of course, young Hope couldn’t resist.
It seems like her daughter Ciara, the sweet little acorn, didn’t fall far from the tree. The writers perfectly plotted her rebellion, insisting she wanted to have her father’s motorcycle.
It was classic to have her crash that symbol, only to be put back together by someone who was as broken on the inside as she was on the outside.
