It looks like Salem will be getting a “Mini Sami” sometime soon as Lindsay Arnold has been cast as the SOARAS’d Allie Horton on Days of our Lives.
According to Jason47 DAYS website, she will be making her debut on June 10. Arnold is a 20-year-old actress from New York who has had small roles on NBC primetime shows Law & Order: SVU and Blindspot. She has also played Lana in the movie Romance at Reindeer Lodge, which starred former One Life to Live actor Josh Kelly (Cutter Wentworth).
A newcomer to soaps, the actress takes over the role from twin youngsters Campbell and Carolyn Rose, who shared the part of Allie for five years, leaving Salem with their mom in 2014.
The daughter of Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo), Allie is no longer a little kid, as spoilers from DAYS reveal that she returns to Salem pregnant, looking to give her baby up for adoption. And she has the perfect couple in mind—her big brother Will and Sonny!
Spoilers also reveal that Allie will confide her secret to her uncle Eric, which his twin Sami may not be too happy about when she learns the truth. With Sweeney and Dattilo both coming back to the Days of our Lives canvas shortly, it’s sure to make for an interesting family dinner ahead.
Allie has already been described as the second coming of Sami Brady by the powers that be, so expect lots of trouble and fireworks ahead. With Sweeney back, Arnold will have a great role model to learn to play mischievous as no one does it better.
DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.
From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.
Days of Our Lives is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
