When EJ DiMera took his last breath on Days of Our Lives nearly two years ago, wife Sami decided life in LA held more promise and took their children with her. We haven’t seen pint-sized superstars Aaron and Griffin Kunitz since, but the twins who played Johnny DiMera still shine in our minds.
Meant for the Role
While little Johnny has been away from Salem, the twins have been busy boys, appearing in a variety of primetime roles and TV movies.
Aaron and Griffin Kunitz were born on April 22, 2005 and started playing Johnny at just four years old. The boys never acted before their days on DAYS and their mom couldn’t believe when they landed their big break.
“I was just being a stay at home mom, taking some time off to raise my children, when I got this daily bulletin from Jen’s List,” their mother Jane told About.com. “In it was a little note saying, ‘Looking for twin boys, brown hair, brown eyes, 3-1/2 to 5 years old.’ I was reading it thinking, Oh! That’s us.”

Primetime Success
The rest, as they say, is Salem history. Life after Salem has been just as prolific for the boys. Griffin appeared on the series Walk the Prank just this year, and also starred on Disney Channel’s Dog With a Blog in 2014 and 2015.
Brother Aaron also appeared on Dog With a Blog, as well as the TV series Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn.
