The power of love can be an amazing thing — what if Kayla is able to move mountains on Days of Our Lives (DOOL) and get Steve back his eyesight?!
It’s not like it hasn’t happened for this couple before. In the leadup to Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla’s (Mary Beth Evans) first wedding, she was deaf and Steve learned to do sign language so he could communicate with the woman he loved. Then a miracle happened and she got her hearing back!
So who is to say their love couldn’t work another miracle? Kayla is one of the best doctors in Salem and more than anything, she wants to be able to fix her husband’s medical condition. Tomorrow, he goes blind, but is that it for Steve?
A team of experts warned them both that Steve is destined to lose his sight completely. So, Steve has been waiting for and is prepared while Kayla has been redoubling her efforts to try to find a cure.
What if Kayla works with John (Drake Hogestyn), the man she once believed to be her brother Roman, instead of against him — and together they are able to find the cure to bring back Steve’s eyesight?

Perhaps John holds the key and doesn’t even realize it. After talking with Kayla, something he says propels her theories forward.
She would then work like crazy until it works — and in healing Steve, she also heals the rift between herself and John. In the end, it brings her and Steve closer to John and Marlena (Deidre Hall), as the two couples solidify their strong bond and everlasting friendship. Now that could be just the miracle Salem and these couples need.
