Steve and Kayla’s daughter, Stephanie, returned to town to attend her parents’ wedding on Days of Our Lives.
Her appearance not only made the nuptials more special, but also added to the heartfelt family feel of Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla’s (Mary Beth Evans) special day. Both their kids, Stephanie (Shelley Hennig) and Joey, were there to witness and revel in the occasion.
Hennig, who’s been off the Days of Our Lives canvas since 2011, was once a popular character of the show. Soap Hub posed the question of her remaining on the soap full-time, asking fans if Stephanie should stay put in Salem. Here are your thoughts on the subject.
Yes, Keep Her
After watching only a few new scenes between Hennig, Nichols and Evans, 62% of you are hooked. You adore the rapport the trio share and the genuine love between them and want to see Stephanie in Salem full-time. She’s the only missing piece in making the Johnson family whole again. You’d welcome seeing her sibling relationship with Joey (James Lastovic) explored, too. He could use a little guidance from his older, wiser sister.

Maybe, Depending on Story
Some 28% of fans wouldn’t mind if Stephanie stayed put, but it all depends on what the story would be. Before the character was written off the soap, Stephanie had been turned into a manipulator and it was never a move you liked or bought. If the character reverted back to the honest and trustworthy young woman she once was, you’d welcome her becoming a permanent fixture in Salem.
No, Send Her Off
The final 10% of you are fine with Stephanie leaving right after the wedding. While it was nice to have her back, there’s really no place for her on the soap. And, frankly, you don’t miss her. All the characters Hennig shared story with during her last time on the show – namely, Melanie, Philip and Nathan – are gone. There’s nowhere to go with her.
