Joe Mascolo joined Days of Our Lives in 1982 and played Stefano DiMera on and off for almost 35 years — changing the face of Salem in the process.
Stefano kept getting “killed” but always rose like The Phoenix, earning him that moniker decades ago. Along the way, he had more children than probably any other character in daytime, more lovers, and of course — more enemies — chief among them being John Black (Drake Hogestyn), Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), and the entire Brady family.
