Beloved Days of Our Lives (DOOL) star Mary Beth Evans had some words of warning on New Year’s Day about health problems that can affect everyone–especially if you grew up before the dangers of the sun became well known.
Evans admits she came of age on Southern California beaches when sunscreen was barely a thought. In fact, suntan oil was a fad for a while, inviting the sun to the body rather than trying to protect the body from the harmful rays.
Today, Evans says she regularly checks her skin for signs of abnormalities and even posted a photo of herself to Instagram with two spots above her upper lip. She admits spots like these can be pre-cancerous, but she is hoping to take care of the problem with a dermatologist’s help.
Evans advises everyone to take care of their skin, watch for rough patches, and make sure to see a doctor at the first sign of anything wrong.
