The relief Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) felt at having Joey (James Lastovic) back safe and sound was short-lived. A crazed Dirk accidentally shot Joey, and his parents now wait at the hospital for word on his condition. Should Joey not recover, there will be hell to pay for several people courtesy of these two very protective parents!
The intrepid John (Drake Hogestyn) fares better than Joey. He returns from the commune safely, and perhaps the danger he faced there is what leads him to ask Marlena a vital question that could alter the course of both their lives.

If it’s true that we reap what we sow, then Kate (Lauren Koslow) could be in big trouble. She goes on her merry way, believing her attempt to frame Nicole for Deimos’ “death” is still proceeding as planned. Some unwelcome news from Philip stands to change her mind! Kate needs to get it together and cut her losses!
Ciara (Vivian Jovanni) still believes Chad (Billy Flynn) is “the one.” Even if it’s not true, who can blame this young woman after all the pain she has had to deal with of late? After Chad apologizes to Ciara, she is still taken with him and the idea of a future for them. Chad won’t easily give up on a relationship with Abby, so Ciara may be fighting a losing battle.
