Days of Our Lives Recap (DOOL): Joey Says Goodbye!

The Days of Our Lives recap (DOOL) for Tuesday, August 22 features an emotional day as Joey got ready to turn himself into the police while those close to Lucas learned his heart was broken.

Doing The Right Thing
Joey (James Lastovic) felt scared about his decision to turn himself in, but he knew it was the right thing to do. His folks asked a few of those closest to him to come down to the pub to say goodbye. Steve (Stephen Nichols) was relieved when Kayla talked to him, spurred on by Joey who knew they needed each other.

Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) finally allows Steve to comfort her, admitting how much she needs him to get through this. He lets her know he pulled what strings he could to make sure it’s not too hard on Joey. As a family, they are there for their son as he goes to turn himself in for killing Ava.

Green-Eyed Monster
Tripp (Lucas Adams) and Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) talked about what’s going on with Joey, and they share a hug. Theo (Kyler Pettis), who just had a hard time when he visited his father in jail, saw the hug and it’s obvious his nose was a bit out of joint about it. It seemed like he’s having second thoughts about ending things with her.

Brotherly Love?
Earlier in the day, Bonnie (Judi Evans) was very nervous when Steve (Stephen Nichols) pays “Adrienne” a visit. She started off poorly by calling him Patch, but she tried to cover when Steve calls her out. She then messes up lots of other things and almost refused to come say goodbye to Joey.

Bonnie didn’t show up and things just get worse. Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) gave her friend and partner a hard time about dumping Lucas (Bryan Dattilo). Bonnie tried to cover but Jennifer wasn’t about to let her off the hook.

For The Common Good
Abe (James Reynolds) was upset that Theo got into see him earlier. He didn’t want his son to see him like that, and told Eli (Lamon Archey). Justin (Wally Kurth) arrived to help Abe, but they don’t want him to. It turns out, Abe was in on the sting – and it’s all to catch the real silent partner – Raines!
