Stefano DiMera may really be dead this time around on “Days of Our Lives” but that doesn’t mean he’s gone for good.
As we know, actor Joe Mascolo has already made two return appearances since Hope shot him point blank in the chest in January. Both appearances were in Chad’s (Billy Flynn) dreams, as Stefano returned to give his youngest son some unsolicited–but well-meaning–advice.
Next week, Mascolo and Stefano return again, but this time it’s in Hope’s dream. It’s time for Hope to come to terms with her moment of insanity and rage, and that she does.
“Hope tries to make peace with him, saying that things were not supposed to take place the way they did, and she regrets what she did,” actress Kristian Alfonso said in the June 13 issue of Soap Opera Digest.
Actor Joseph Mascolo admitted to Digest that every time he’s returned to the studio since Hope fired those bullets, it’s like old home week. He feels even if he’s not around, Stefano’s presence will forever loom in Salem.
The actor also said being around is not the worst idea. While he’s enjoyed his retirement relaxing at his Lake Arrowhead home, it’s hard to get that acting itch out of his system, which is why he’ll never rule out more DAYS returns.
As he told Digest, “If the stories make sense, Stefano can always figure out a way to mess things up in Salem.”
