You just knew that couldn’t be Nicole on Days of Our Lives, not caring about the fact that her daughter was believed dead and she’d have to sit through a funeral honoring the “whiny brat”. You may even have figured out who it was — but how it was revealed — well, that was EVERYTHING!
Soap audiences are pretty savvy these days. After all, it wasn’t that many months ago when The Young and the Restless had a similar reveal — the character of JT Hellstrom ripped off a mask to show he was actually Nick Newman. General Hospital has had its share of mask wearers too.
So while this was perfectly within the realm of soapdom possibility, the way the show shot it was spectacular.

And while those of us here at Soap Hub may have known what was about happen, we certainly have friends who had not and were texting us like crazy to share their shock and delight at how the soap pulled off such a stunning surprise.
Of course, now we are left with a big question — does this mean Nicole is really dead or does Kristen have her stashed somewhere while she gets to live out her reunion fantasy with Brady (Eric Martsolf)?

It almost harkens back to Nicole of old when she was hell on wheels. But while this is all fun — for now, we do want Nicole back for real at some point.
It would be too cruel to have this Holly hoax continue and for the mother and daughter to be separated.
We actually hope that Nicole is the one who has Holly now. Even if they are being held against their will, being together would help ease the pain until they can make their triumphant returns to Salem in the not too distant future.
