While Theresa Donovan started out as one of the most hated Days of Our Lives characters in years, by the time she left town last fall, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as the character was forced to say goodbye to Brady and her son.
Actress Jen Lilley’s career was taking off, as she landed primetime guest spots and made-for-TV movie starring roles. Recently, Lilley told Soap Hub that she was willing to be a non-contract player in Salem.
“I asked to go recurring but that didn’t happen,” the actress said.
While she didn’t elaborate on why it didn’t happen, we wonder if Lilley’s desire to stay on the soap means she’ll one day return. Perhaps, the show would be willing to go the recurring route one day or maybe she’ll be ready to sign another contract.
All we know is it seems she does miss DAYS, as Lilley admits to visiting the set whenever she can.
Brady (Eric Martsolf) has been waffling around Salem with little to do except take care of Nicole (Arianne Zucker) of late and would probably be thrilled to have Theresa back–after he reams her out for leaving her like she did.
Perhaps we can watch Theresa take her Mexican drug lord down in an adventure story and have Lilley back on our daytime screens.
