Days of Our Lives Fires Higley; Hires Former GH Head Writer Ron Carlivati

There is a new head writing team yet again at Days of Our Lives.

After their new episodes only began airing back in September, Dena Higley is now out as co-head writer and fellow co-head writer Ryan Quan is now being called a Creative Consultant, according to SoapOperaDigest. Former General Hospital and One Life to Live head writer, Ron Carlivati, in now the new head writer of Days of Our Lives.

Carlivati became GH’s head writer after One Life to Live’s demise in 2012 and stayed until the summer of 2015. He will begin immediately but considering how far in advance the show is shooting, his episodes probably won’t air until the fall.

In addition to the above changes, Sheri Anderson Thomas will also now have the title of Creative Consultant. Anderson Thomas is a daytime veteran, having served on DAYS writing staffs in various capacities over the years, including as head writer. She also wrote for several other soaps including General Hospital and Santa Barbara.
