It was last October when the world lost legendary actress Peggy McCay, and soon Days of Our Lives will pay tribute to their beloved star by having her character Caroline Brady also pass away. Many performers will be bringing their beloved characters back to pay tribute — but some won’t be there. And now we know why.
As the show shared its summer promo of what’s to come, a fan was quick to notice who wasn’t seen — Patsy Pease’s Kimberly and, of course, took to Twitter to share the disappointment of not having Caroline’s other daughter there. DAYS head writer Ron Carlivati saw the complaint and decided to respond.
“Sadly, she was unavailable to us as she had just had surgery,” he wrote. But that wasn’t the only omission that was noted and Carlivati found himself in the position of once again trying to explain what was happening behind the scenes that impacted what you’ll see onscreen.
“Jen [Lilley, Theresa] wasn’t available, either. I’m not going to explain these one by one. We did our best. #days”
They certainly did and you’ll see several faves, including a few of Caroline’s grandchildren like Alison Sweeney (Sami), Brandon Beemer (Shawn), and Christie Clark (Carrie), return to pay tribute to the woman who was considered the matriarch of the long-running NBC soap.
Caroline may have been a Brady, but she also ran the popular Brady Pub and had a hand in many storylines as she advised younger characters when they seemed to be going astray. No airdate has been given as yet for this tribute.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
