The Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for February 20 features an unlikely hero emerging during the hostage crisis – and he’s a chip off the old patch.
Collateral Damage
Paul (Christopher Sean) and Will (Chandler Massey) found Billie (Lisa Rinna) and immediately called for help. At the hospital, John (Drake Hogestyn) got a (fake) text from Billie that she neutralized Pamela but then he ran into Paul and Will and learned the truth.
He went to check on her, leaving Marlena (Deidre Hall) to update the guys. Billie was able to tell him about Pamela and how she’s headed to Steve’s son – but he assumed Joey. After talking it out with Kayla and the guys, he realized it was Tripp.
Insurance Policy
Pamela showed up at Tripp’s (Lucas Adams). She told him about the entire plot (as if it was someone else who was responsible) and said she wanted to take him to where his dad is being protected. When he tried to answer Kayla’s call, Pamela pulled a gun on him. He said to shoot him cause no way would he leave.
When she threatened to hurt others, he changed his mind because he saw Ciara (Victoria Konefal). He tried reverse psychology, claiming to be angry at Steve, but she said Joey did him a favor by killing Ava and that angered Tripp.
In Recovery
As everyone rushed to save Tripp, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) tried to keep Steve (Stephen Nichols) in the dark. Marlena tried to make her feel better by saying that Steve would trust John to help his son. Marlena then tried to comfort Will, who was overwhelmed by all that happened.
A Little Loving
Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Rafe (Galen Gering) enjoyed some loving when Hope couldn’t sleep, but then Rafe felt guilty about his secret. When they tried to go back to sleep, Ciara called and told them to come to the loft. She then took a bat to his Pamela but instantly was spotted by her.
At the now-empty loft, John and Paul ran into Hope and Rafe and they realized the kids were hostages. Pamela called John, saying he had to do exactly what she said. When he went to the meet, all converged on her. She ordered all weapons down, gave John poison for Steve, and swore they’d only go free once he’s dead.
John said he’d do it but Tripp, who blamed himself, said it should be him to die. Paula liked the plan and told John to give Tripp the syringe. Ciara bit her and Tripp put the poison in Pamela, killing her.
