The Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for January 22 has many of Salem’s upstanding – and not upstanding – citizens scrambling to keep their stories straight after Andre turns up dead.
Most Sincerely Dead?
Chad (Billy Flynn) and Kate (Lauren Koslow) were furious at Andre firing Gabi. Chad tried to comfort Kate, who was beating herself up for trusting him. He said they’d regroup and be ready for the reporters’ inevitable questions.
Abigail (Marci Miller) was in shock when she stumbled upon Andre’s (Thaao Penghlis) lifeless body. Distraught, she called Chad but she wasn’t making sense so he headed to her. He stopped Abby from touching everything and called the police.
Rafe (Galen Gering) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), who had just picked a wedding date when Chad called, quickly arrived, so Hope questioned them. Chad admitted to being angry with his brother but Abby kept quiet about Gabi’s threats.
Meanwhile, Rafe found Anna’s (Leann Hunley) urn and showed it to a Eli (Lamon Archey), who had just come from telling Gabi (Camila Banus) they needed to go after Andre for firing her. Seeing that Andre was now dead shocked him.

Getting Stories Straight
Stefan (Tyler Christopher) and Vivian (Louise Sorel) worked to get their stories straight. He felt there was no need to worry, that nothing could be traced back to them. They decided to act normal. Which for Viv meant antagonizing Kate. Later, Kate laid it on thick seeing Andre’s body.
Seeking Help
Gabi ran into Stefan who said he was shocked that Andre fired her. He said he was disturbed by it so she asked him to undo it. He refused to get involved because it’s Andre’s domain. Then he said he really couldn’t, once he got the news alert of Andre’s death.
Hot Temper
Roman (Josh Taylor) was relieved to see Anna. She wanted to say something but he apologized first about springing Marlena on her and asked for another chance. She said she had to confess first. Before she could, Hope and Rafe arrived to take her to the station.
