The Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for Monday, December 18 features a wake-up call for Hope as she sees how much her daughter’s personality changed while she was away.
What About Me?!
Ciara (Victoria Konefal) couldn’t stop thinking about Rafe’s treachery and asked Hope (Kristian Alfonso) to meet her. Hope assumed it was about Claire because she heard from Shawn that she wanted to destroy Claire. Ciara told her everyone has let her down, including her for taking Bo’s bike away.
She believes it’s Claire’s fault Theo is in a coma. Hope disagreed and Ciara asked why she couldn’t be on her side. Hope can’t understand who Ciara has become. Ciara was about to tell her about Rafe when he called with news about JJ. Hope left for the station and asked Rafe about Ciara, and he realized she might know about Sami.
Ciara and Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) spoke at the hospital, with Ciara teasing her about her new boyfriend, Tripp (Lucas Adams). Claire lambasted her for talking about boyfriends as Theo fights for his life.
A Father’s Pain
JJ (Casey Moss) was cleared, and Abe (James Reynolds) was furious. He threatened to have JJ prosecuted, and Rafe warned the D.A. won’t seek charges and it’s over – but Abe swore this would not stand.
Lani (Sal Stowers) asked how Abe took it and Rafe said not well. Jennifer and Abby were worried that JJ was still a wreck. Abby tried to get him to forgive himself. Rafe gave him back his shield and gun — and Eli as his partner.
At the hospital, Abe learned the new procedure on Theo didn’t work. He went to Theo’s room and swore he will do whatever it takes to get justice.
Steve (Stephen Nichols) told Kate never to go after anyone in his family again, thus leaving her to face Chad’s (Billy Flynn) wrath alone. He screamed at her to admit it, and she did. Chad berated her for not saying anything as he blamed Andre. He told her how lucky she was that it wasn’t Stefano who discovered what she did to Theo.
He said he won’t turn her in, but she’s to step down as CEO, and he will take over. And if she makes one wrong move, she’ll be out of the company and the family.
Safe and Sound
Steve updated Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Tripp about Chad knowing and Kate being back in her cage. Kayla told Tripp she’ll never forget what he did for her and he feels the same way about what she did for him.
