The Days of Our Lives (DOOL) recap for Tuesday, December 12 features Eli sharing what he thinks is the truth – and Gabi getting furious at him for opening his big mouth.
Straight Shooter
Abe (James Reynolds) questioned Eli (Lamon Archey) about the investigation into Theo’s shooting. Eli said it was just his opinion, but he thinks JJ could have approached the situation differently. Gabi overheard Eli and ripped him a new one.
They realized they disagree about JJ but that they still want to be together and will do whatever they can to make sure they don’t let their opinions come between them. They kissed to seal the deal.
Healing Heart
Eric (Greg Vaughan) showed up at JJ’s (Casey Moss), hoping to help him learn to cope with his actions. Eric told him as dark as it seems, there is still purpose to life. JJ fears if Theo dies, his life is over too. Eric asked if he tried to speak with Abe and JJ said he threw him out of Theo’s room.
Eric suggested he stop reading the stories about the case and then gave him a bible. JJ refused but Eric told him it helped him find comfort.
Desperate for solace, JJ began reading. Meanwhile, Eric found Jennifer and let her know JJ isn’t doing well and will need Abe’s forgiveness.
More Guilt
Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Rafe (Galen Gering) were caught arguing by Hope (Kristian Alfonso). She assumed Sami was trying to get the charges against herself dropped. They did some fast talking and eventually Sami got the ring off and passed it to Rafe.
Sami ran into Kate and said she should be thanking her for saving Lucas, with Maggie’s help. She let her know he’s in rehab and that she’s leaving town. They hugged. Abe approached and they gave him support, but Abe had words for Kate.
Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) visited with Chad (Billy Flynn), Abby (Marci Miller), and grandson Thomas. Jennifer got a call with a tip that the DiMeras are officially connected to Theo’s case and she asked Chad for a comment.
She pushed him and he said it wasn’t his family’s fault – it was her son who put a bullet in him. She warned him her reporters will dig into this.
Protective Daddy
Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) told Doug (Bill Hayes) she planned a romantic night for Hope and Rafe to help them get back on track. Rafe put his ring back on Hope’s finger. Doug gave Rafe a stern warning if he hurts Hope, he’ll answer to him. They ended the evening with a dance.
