It was a monumental night for Days of Our Lives (DOOL) at the 45th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, and the show achieved something that hasn’t been done in almost 40 years!
Not since 1979 has one soap opera won the outstanding show, directing, and writing Emmys. That’s when Ryan’s Hope completed the hat trick. But none of their actors ended up winning awards that night.
Not so for DAYS. James Reynolds (Abe) won Outstanding Lead Actor and Greg Vaughan (Eric) took home the prize for Outstanding Supporting Actor. It was an exciting night, unlike any in the show’s history and it shared the excitement by throwing an on-set party.
The cast and crew gathered for the celebration and shared the memories with their fans thanks to social media. There’s even a very special photo bomb by Chandler Massey (Will). You can see both below.
The celebration also included having an In-and-Out food truck on the lot for everyone to enjoy. Galen Gering (Rafe) shared a photo of it to his Instagram followers.
Soap Hub congratulates Days of Our Lives, its writers, directors, actors, and crew on having an incredible year and achieving that incredible feat — and we look forward to seeing what’s coming up next.
