Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings: Emergency Recast Shocks All!

Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.

The week of October 1, 2018
Tyler Christopher has taken a leave of absence from his role of Stefan O. DiMera, forcing the soap to do an immediate recast. The actor will be replaced by a familiar face from his General Hospital past: Brandon Barash, who played Johnny Zacchara from 2007 to 2013 and returned for brief stints in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Barash reported for work at Days’ Burbank studio complex in mid-September. However, due to the show’s advance taping schedule don’t expect to see him onscreen for a few months. Official word is he won’t begin airing until early 2019 and that the recast is temporary.
