Arianne Zucker got a big surprise this Father’s Day when she went out on a boat ride with her longtime boyfriend and former Days of our Lives costar Shawn Christian.

Christian (ex-Dr. Daniel Jonas) popped the question to his long-time girlfriend and the two are now engaged. Both actors shared the details of the day on social media.
Christian posted some snapshots of the day, showing the timeline of his asking Zucker (Nicole Walker Brady), complete with titles such as “Guess What?” and “A new soul-inspiring adventure begins!”
“I love surprises…..and this surprise proposal on our boat cruise was a magical blessing,” Christian wrote, adding an emoji of an engagement ring. “She said YES!!”
Zucker started the day posting a photo of herself on Instagram, ready to go on her adventure on the water, having no idea what was to come.
“Love a beautiful day on the water!” she wrote. Later on, the actress revealed the engagement. “So, words can’t describe how happy I was this day!” she posted to Instagram. “This man has an unbelievably beautiful heart and he always seems to know how to make me feel so wonderful! I am blessed to join him on this next adventure.”

Christian also talked about how hard it was to keep the secret, and thanked his former Summerland co-star Taylor Cole and friend Cameron Larson for helping as co-conspirators, noting Arianne Zucker never saw it coming!
“I’m so blessed to begin another chapter with this wonderful woman who brings out the best in me as a person, parent, and partner,” he wrote. “Looking forward to the many soul-inspiring adventures ahead!”
Zucker responded, “Awe honey! I don’t know how you kept this such a surprise! I love you!!! 💕”
Plenty of daytime stars sent their best wishes to the newly engaged couple. Eileen Davidson (ex-Kristen on DAYS; Ashley, The Young and the Restless) chimed in, “Congratulations to both of you! So happy for you!!!” while Maura West (Ava, General Hospital) wrote, “This is so beautiful! Congratulations, Ari and Shawn!!!”
