Former The Young and the Restless executive producer, David Shaughnessy, is coming back to Days of Our Lives (DOOL).
According to the Jason47 DAYS website, Shaughnessy has rejoined the DAYS directing team, having helmed an episode recently for the first time since 1990.
After leaving DAYS, Shaughnessy joined The Young and the Restless as a director and eventually executive producer from 1991-2003. He then did some freelance directing on its sister show, The Bold and the Beautiful from 2004-2016.
His brother, actor Charles Shaughnessy, has returned to Salem from time to time over the years as Shane Donovan. Shane’s daughter, Eve (Kassie DePaiva), recently made her own Salem comeback so here’s hoping with those connections that we may see more of Shane soon.
Shaughnessy is a four-time Emmy winner, having won twice for directing and twice for producing. He is married Anne Schoettle, who has written for DAYS, Y&R, B&B, among other shows.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
