There appear to be conflicting reports about the Days of our Lives futures of both Thaao Penghlis’s Tony and Leann Hunley’s Anna, at least on the surface of the two reports, but it could be that both reports are right.
If you look at the newest issue of Soap Opera Digest, dated January 20, 2020, you will see the announcement in the Comings and Goings section that both actors are in the “Going” section — therefore leaving the popular NBC soap. It also says that their absence from the show will be addressed the following week.
But then if you look at the latest story on Soaps.com about the pair, it says they are set to return to the show, beginning on January 21. While on the surface the two reports appear to be saying the opposite, that’s not necessarily the right way to look at it or as Obi-Wan said to Luke, from a certain point of view.
Perhaps the return that happens will be the explanation — and both actors are used to show the explanation rather than tell it. Could we be about to have another recreated flashback that takes place during the time jump to explain the pair’s absence from Salem? It sure beats just having a conversation with a one-sentence explanation.
While we at Soap Hub don’t want to see the last of this adorable pairing, we will accept just about any excuse to see this incredibly charismatic pair back on our screens and if this is how they need to do it, we’re all for it. Considering the actors appeared at the big Day of DAYS fan event in November, it seems apparent they are still a part of the show.
After all, they are part of the extended DiMera clan so when SteVano takes center stage, it would only make sense that these two return to react to it all, along with the rest of their devious family. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
