EJ DiMera and Xander Cook have made their presence felt individually on Days of our Lives. Xander has been a villain, a victim, a lover, and a lovelorn loser. EJ is equally adept in the boardroom, in the bedroom, and in the living room (where he seems to spend most of his time). Each has been in a popular pairing, Xander with Sarah, and EJ with Nicole. But who knew that both men are at their best when they’re with each other?
EJ DiMera: Second Thoughts
On Thursday, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) showed up just in time to keep his own hit-man from putting a bullet between Xander’s (Paul Telfer) eyes. EJ wanted revenge for Xander’s role in EJ’s mother’s death. But since Susan (Stacy Haiduk) is alive now, we’re good. Well, maybe not exactly good. But no longer homicidal. Xander was grateful for EJ’s intervention. For about a minute. And then he was on his phone, calling Rafe (Galen Gering) to tattle about how big, bad EJ tried to have poor, innocent Xander killed.
The Devil is in the Details
EJ cautioned Xander to think a little harder. The only reason he wasn’t currently under arrest along with Ava (Tamara Braun), is that no one could prove that he and Ava were in cahoots to kidnap Susan. But you know who could prove it? Susan! Who is alive now! If Xander sics the cops on EJ, EJ will have no choice but to sic the cops on Xander – via his mother. And that wouldn’t be too helpful in Xander’s attempt to win custody of his newborn daughter from Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), would it?
Blue Ribbon
EJ and Xander’s handful of scenes were the most entertaining ones that DAYS has put on the air in weeks. We didn’t realize how badly we needed this Odd Couple’s banter until we got it. More, please. Much, much more. Could every upcoming Salem scene have an EJ and Xander back and forth in it?
