After Roman blurted out that EJ was a rapist – but then refused to say another word about it to Johnny on the March 14 episode of Days of our Lives, Kate stepped up to fill Johnny in. It’s a story that’s been a long time coming, and we’ve called EJ out over it multiple times. But we can’t help feeling like we’ve seen it before…
The Whole Truth and Nothing But the Truth
Kate (Lauren Koslow) had every right to hate EJ (Dan Feuerrigel) for what he did. It was Kate’s son, Lucas (Bryan Dattillo), whose life hung in the balance while EJ blackmailed Sami (Alison Sweeney) into having sex with him. Yes, Johnny (Carson Boatman) fits the definition of a rape baby.
And it was Lucas who then had to deal with Sami becoming pregnant with twins, one fathered by him – that turned out to be Allie – and one fathered by EJ – that turned out to be Johnny. (We do have to wonder now, what story Sami, Lucas, and EJ told their kids up to this point about how that situation came about.)

Johnny won’t be the first soap child to find out their father or mother is a horrible human being and a criminal, to boot. It happens on the daily. But this particular story seems overly familiar because back in 1998, daytime’s most famous rapist, General Hospital’s Luke Spencer (Athony Geary) had to answer for the same crime to his son, Lucky (Jonathan Jackson). In Lucky’s case, it was even worse because Luke and Laura were still together at the time he found out and were forced to defend not merely the rape but their relationship after the fact.
Johnny won’t have that problem. Sami and EJ have been broken up for a while, and she isn’t currently on the canvas for Johnny to question. On the other hand, Lucky was years after the rape. And Johnny is a product of it. The GH story was spectacular, full of amazing, heartbreaking scenes. We look forward to seeing what DAYS does with it.
