The DAYS Nicole Walker Obviously Wants To Forget

New Year’s Eve hit Days of our Lives with equal parts drama, intrigue, and danger. While most everybody was at the party being held in Stefan’s restaurant, Nicole Walker DiMera stayed at home. She told Holly to go out and have a good time with Tate, and then wished Chad a happy…almost 2024. Which is the year it is in the real world. But isn’t Salem a year ahead of the rest of us?

Nicole Walker: In The Twilight Zone?

Remember Jennifer’s coma? The year when Adrianne died, and Will went to jail, and Xander and Victor switched Sarah and Kristen’s babies, and Kristen pushed Hayley down the stairs? (Refresh your memory here.) That year took place over the space of a single hourglass flip. So we should be headed into 2025, no? Except Nicole might not be nearly as keen to embrace it.

Tough Times

On the one hand, Nicole (Arianne Zucker) had a pretty blessed year. She finally became pregnant and was told that, this time, she’d be able to carry her baby to term. Sure, she was disappointed to find out it had been fathered by the man she was engaged to, rather than the guy she only slept with due to poisoned biscuits (a very common error). But Nicole’s overall joy won out. Then, she was told the baby died. (A second lie, since Eric was also the tot’s dad, not EJ.) And her miracle year turned into a nightmare.

Looking Back Over the Years

So is it any wonder Nicole wishes it were 2024, and not 2025? Just like we missed watching all the drama of Jennifer’s (Melissa Reeves) coma year, Nicole would like to erase everything that happened in 2023 (which was her 2024 — we know, it’s confusing). It was either a Frauedian slip, or a wish thrown out to the universe. What other Salem folks do you think would like to see the past year erased in exchange for a fresh start?
