Days of our Lives, EJ doesn’t deserve all the disrespect coming his way. It’s an unpopular opinion, we know, but hear us out!
Key Takeaways
- EJ has done things that can’t be ignored.
- The villain also has a softer, more compassionate side, much like Sami.
- EJ’s humor adds another layer to the fact that he’s simply human.
Time To Shake Things Up With EJ
Look, we get it, EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) has done some despicable things over the years. From raping Sami (Alison Sweeney) to the most recent Rafe (Galen Gering) swap for one to his new drug drama, EJ’s got a long rap sheet, and those things he did are horrible.
However, EJ isn’t just the awful things he’s done. There is a villainous side to him, but there’s also a loving side. Family is the be-all end-all for EJ, especially his kids.
Even knowing that he will never be a part of his son’s life, EJ went toe to toe with Amy (Shi Ne Nielson) to help Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) adopt baby Trey.
EJ may double-cross his siblings all the time, but that’s not just him. It’s simply the DiMera way and what DAYS fans have come to expect from them over the years.
Sami has done awful things over the years. Granted, some of her worst were when she was a troubled teen.
However, Sami is the perfect example of a villain with a heart who has finally earned the respect of her loved ones. Isn’t it time for EJ to get some of that, too, just like Sami did?
One fan on Reddit agreed after watching EJ learn that Johnny named Rafe (Galen Gering) Baby Trey’s grandfather.
“I’m sick of the constant disrespect EJ gets he’s the reason Johnny even has a child if I was EJ I wouldn’t stand for Johnny tantrum and cut him out of my will,” said the fan.
Not only does EJ make a great villain, but he’s very funny thanks to Feuerriegel. Seriously, watching Rafe and EJ spar was hilarious.
Another fantastic EJ moment this week was the witty exchange between Gwen (Emily O’Brien) and EJ as they admit they made Dimitri (Peter Porte) disappear. It was devious, with a huge side of humor, making for good entertainment.
There are many layers to EJ, and we simply feel he isn’t the awful person everyone in Salem continues to make him out to be. Again, no, we aren’t condoning his actions, just suggesting he deserves a little bit of love.
What do you think? Does EJ deserve more respect, or is he just too evil? Sound off in the below comments section.
