Days of our Lives has fans buzzing after a week filled with bombshells we didn’t see coming. Here’s a look at the best moments from September 8-12.
EJ and Gwen In Cahoots
Never in a million years did we think Gwen (Emily O’Brien) was the person who helped EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) buy University Hospital. That little truth bomb was shocking, but oh so good.
These two talking openly about their plans in the DiMera living room was on point for DOOL. Neither one of them can be trusted, so fans know this won’t end well. However, it will be entertaining to keep watching them try to one-up each other all while claiming they are on the same team.
The Grieving Widows of Salem
Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) leaning on each other as they navigate their grief for Doug (the late Bill Hayes) and Victor (the late John Aniston) was a tearjerker. These two veteran icons nailed it and reminded DOOL fans they are not used enough together on the show.
Making their conversation more emotional was when Julie mentioned the anniversary of Victor’s funeral and asked Maggie if she still mourns Mickey (the late John Clarke). There was friendship, heartbreak, history, and love during Maggie and Julie’s chat that was reminiscent of the good old days in Salem.
Chad Gets A Backbone
It’s about time Chad (Billy Flynn) stood his ground with Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and Jack (Matthew Ashford) over Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) and Mark (Jonah Robinson). Jack and Jennifer may be Abigail’s (Marci Miller) parents, but they don’t run Chad’s life.
Watching Chad respectfully yet firmly go against his in-laws’ wishes had us cheering. The situation formed a bit of a rift between Jack, Jennifer, and Chad, and we are here for it, especially as his feelings for Cat grow.
Kristen’s Mini Me Goes Rogue Again
Running away is nothing new for Rachel (Alice Halsey). However, watching her with Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) in prison, blaming herself for Kristen being locked up, tugged at our heartstrings. All this little girl wants is her mom!
Then, watching defiant Rachel tell Brady (Eric Martsolf) that she’s not leaving her mom was pure soap bliss. There is no question that Kristen and Brady have a Rachel problem on their hands, and neither one of them is dealing with the little terror the right way.
This week’s honorable mention involves Stephanie (Abigail Klein) convincing EJ to name the clinic after Dr. Tom Horton (Macdonald Carey), which will lead to the DOOL 60th Anniversary celebration.
