Days of our Lives’ latest love triangle isn’t quite as black and white as it may seem. Javi isn’t necessarily the good guy, and that’s not what was expected from him.
Key Takeaways
- Javi gave up on Leo way too quickly.
- The character played the victim when he wasn’t.
- Leo deserved a minute to process Dimitri.
Javi’s Behavior Was Not Expected on DAYS
We are going to be crystal clear here and say we are big Javi (Al Calderon) fans. Our reason for why he’s the real villain in the latest love triangle involving Leo (Greg Rikaart) and Dimitri (Peter Porte) is because of how Javi has been acting and treating Leo.
From the moment Dmitri returned and revealed he had never written Leo that Dear John letter, Javi was adamant about giving Leo space to deal with the Dimitri revelation. However, Javi quickly turned the entire situation around on Leo, blaming him for kissing Dimitri and accusing him of being dishonest.
Before Javi left to be with his sick father, he and the rest of the Hernandez family were acting as if Leo had wronged Javi in some way. Let’s be clear. Javi opted not to go through with the marriage to Leo to give him time, only to throw that time and space back in Leo’s face.
That’s why we have an issue with Javi and feel like he’s the real villain. Listen, Dimitri is not a saint, but at least he’s fighting for Leo, while Javi just gave up, literally pushing Leo into Dimitri’s arms and then playing the victim.
DAYS fans are speaking their minds about Javi being a villain in this love triangle.
“Omg come on Javi get over yourself and give it a rest. Leo is guilty of nothing more than having some complicated feeling for an ex (hello don’t we all?). Why are we acting like he betrayed everyone and disregarded his wedding vows because a long lost ex showed up? If he keeps this up I’m going to be team Dimitri just because Javi is starting to show he is the one who doesn’t deserve Leo,” insisted a fan on Reddit.
Another fan in the same Reddit thread declared, “Yeah Javi is being an a**hole in this situation indeed.”
There’s no question that this is a side of Javi we never thought we would see, and we are not here for it. We understand DAYS needed to create a little love triangle and drama, but come on, give us back the real Javi.
The love triangle would have been more entertaining if Javi had fought for Leo instead of pushing him away from the jump. Do you agree with Javi being a villain? Sound off in the comments section below.
