Is Days of our Lives Big Enough For Alex Kiriakis and Ben Weston?

With Bo still alive on Days of our Lives, and Hope headed back to Salem, their daughter Ciara can’t be far behind. Surely, Ciara will want to introduce her back-from-the-dead dad to his namesake, grandson, Bo Weston. And to Bo’s dad…Ben. Normally, we’d be so excited for this return. But, at the moment, we are more confused. Will Ben be walking around in the same town as…Alex Kiriakis?

Days of our Lives: Double Trouble

Ben and Alex, of course, are both played by Robert Scott Wilson. Obviously, dual roles are nothing new in soaps, or in Salem. The most obvious current example is Stacy Haiduk playing both Kristen and Susan. But here’s the difference between that dual role and this one: Kristen and Susan are supposed to look alike.

The whole story which first brought Susan onto the canvas (then played by Eileen Davidson) was Kristen hiring a pregnant Susan to pretend to be her for doctor’s appointments — and then the delivery. (Yes, that baby was EJ. Yes, he grew up fast.)

Alex Kiriakis and Ben Weston: Double Take

Now, Susan and Kristen aren’t related. Susan and Kristen looking alike is just pure coincidence. So Ben and Alex looking alike could be a coincidence, too. Except that, as of now, NO ONE HAS COMMENTED ON IT.

We’d be more willing to believe that the two are random doppelgangers, if, from the moment Alex appeared in Salem…or when Justin (Wally Kurth) first set eyes on Ben…he commented on how much Ciara’s husband looked like Justin’s oldest son. We are much more likely to believe the coincidence…than in nobody noticing.

DAYS: Double Down

If Wilson ends up playing both roles, and nobody comments on it, then we absolutely cannot wait for the following scene: Alex, doing what Alex does best, engages in a threesome. With Ciara (Victora Konofal)…and Ben. We can’t wait to see the trick photography on that one!
