Days of our Lives Finally Paving the Way For An EJ and Nicole Reunion

There was a time when EJ DiMera had eyes for another Salem blonde. They were lovers, eventually husband and wife, and even conceived a child together. With his relationship with Sami Brady DiMera on the brink of imploding, Days of our Lives might finally be paving the way for an EJ and Nicole Walker Brady reunion.

Days of our Lives: First Things First

Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo), with some nudging from his little brother Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson), seems ready to reveal Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) big secret. Namely, that she spent two nights of passion with him, while her husband, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), was back in Europe. Getting Kristen’s letter, outing the pair’s affair, into EJ’s jealous hands will surely blow up his and Sami’s marriage.

EJ’s always been possessive regarding his wife, and while he could possibly forgive one romp between Sami and Lucas, the fact that she went back for seconds is sure to infuriate him. Odds are he’ll end up dumping his cheating wife, which will leave him unattached for the first time in years.

DOOL: In the Nic of Time

Meanwhile, across town, Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) marriage to Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) has been blown to smithereens courtesy of Sami, who paid Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) $1 million to reveal he had sex with Nicole. How will the stand-up guy and former priest take the revelation? Let’s just assume that no amount of penance will be able to erase that vision for Eric. He’ll feel crushed and betrayed and likely head back to Africa permanently.

Days of our Lives: Healing and Heating Up

That leaves a double-crossed EJ and a double-crossing Nicole in the same Days of our Lives boat: both reeling, both heartbroken, and, most importantly, both alone. It’s the perfect scenario for the once-hot couple to rebound into each other’s familiar arms.

They could start out commiserating about their failed marriages; each providing a strong shoulder for the other to lean on. In the process, they could reconnect as friends. Then, slowly, but surely, old feelings could start to stir between them. Maybe the show’s writers could even script another trapped-in-an-elevator scene for the couple to get things started. Remember, that’s where EJ and Nicole hooked up the first time.

DAYS: Perfect Pairing

With Greg Vaughan about to exit the show, and Alison Sweeney only committed for a limited run, it makes perfect sense to re-pair EJ and Nicole. The two characters have always had great chemistry. They know what makes the other tick, and there’s a true comfortability between them. Plus, what better way for Nicole to pay back Sami for destroying her marriage to Eric than to land in EJ’s arms? There absolutely isn’t any, and Sami would have no one to blame but herself.
