Days of our Lives delivered some jaw-dropping moments this week as storylines came to a head. Here’s a look at the most intriguing moments from October 20-24.
Key Takeaways
- Sophia’s mental state sends Amy on the warpath.
- Xander’s world blew up thanks to Maggie.
- Leo better watch his back.
- Abe is not playing these DiMera games.
It’s All Too Much For Sophia
After trying to go on the run, Sophia (Rachel Boyd) was forced to face the consequences of her actions. Sophia finally came clean to her mom, Amy (Shi Ne Nielson), as Tate (Leo Howard), Brady (Eric Martsolf), Holly (Ashley Puzemis), Javi (Al Calderon), Leo (Greg Rikaart), Johnny (Carson Boatman), and Chanel (Raven Bowens) watched.
The questioning became too much for Sophia, who had a breakdown. Sophia went nearly catatonic as the lies she told came crashing down around her.
There was only one moment when Sophia wasn’t stone cold, and that’s when she pulled her hand away from Amy’s after learning she’s headed to Bayview to get help.
Amy’s Got A Mission
In the aftermath of Sophia’s breakdown, Amy officially meets Baby Tesoro. Amy is appreciative of what Leo and Javi have done for Tesoro, but she also doesn’t hide the fact that she disagrees with everything about their lifestyle.
Something shifts in Amy as she holds her grandson, sending her into a spiral. She vows to make sure Tesoro doesn’t end up with Johnny and Chanel.
It seems Amy’s channeling Sophia to make things up to her daughter, although she vows that she’s doing it out of protection for Sophia and Tesoro.
EJ Isn’t Here For Meddling Leo
Never one to mind his own business, Leo has landed in EJ’s (Daniel Feuerriegel) crosshairs. Leo won’t let go of the fact that construction on EJ’s new clinic caused the blackout, putting a target on his back.
Rita (Maggie Carney), finding Leo snooping around the clinic, set alarm bells off for EJ. The DiMera heir has a Leo problem, and that means Leo’s in danger. EJ won’t hesitate to get rid of Leo, and since he now has Mark (Jonah Robinson) on his payroll, perhaps he will help him take care of Leo.
Abe Stands By His DiMera Hate
Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) is DiMera’s new CEO, which is causing a major rift between Abe (James Reynolds) and Paulina (Jackée Harry). Abe can’t accept that his son works for DiMera, but Paulina won’t stop sticking up for Theo.
When Paulina declares that Theo stood up to his school bully, Liam (Hank Northrop), Abe goes all in on the DiMera family with a couple of great lines. Abe called them vultures, as well as a family that eats its own.
The words were great, but Reynolds’ delivery was off the charts, showing just how much he loathes The DiMeras, and the fact his son is one of them.
Maggie The Truth Seeker
It was only a matter of time before Xander (Paul Telfer) was out as the person who beat up Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier). However, having Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) uncover the lie was not on our bingo card.
Maggie cornered Xander as he was set to move back into the mansion, because she knows her son-in-law all too well and knows the other shoe will drop at some point.
Xander begins to crack, but when Maggie forces him to look Sarah in the eye and promise he didn’t hurt Philip, he can’t. It’s powerful as Xander confesses all because Maggie knew he was hiding something.
On that note, the honorable mention for this week goes to Philip being there for Xander amid the fallout, as Xander calls Philip his only friend. The Kiriakis brothers’ bond seems to be the real deal, and we are here for it.
