Days of our Lives pulled out all the stops to celebrate the show’s 60th anniversary with a few twists that have had fans talking all week long. Here are the most memorable moments from November 10-14.
Key Takeaways
- Chad and Jennifer’s feud.
- Cat’s pivotal memory.
- Six decades of nostalgia.
- Another DiMera mystery.
Flashbacks Galore
In honor of the 60th anniversary of DAYS, fans were treated to so many flashbacks. From Tom (the late Macdonald Carey) and Alice (the late Frances Reid), to when Mickey (the late John Clarke) and Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) first met, to Doug (the late Bill Hayes) and Julie’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) troubled beginning, it was a treat to relive some classic moments.
It wasn’t all about the Horton family either, as flashbacks from all six decades took over the hit Peacock soap. Fans got to see classic scenes they may have never watched before and moments that remind them of the good old days. The flashbacks were beyond exceptional and the perfect way to mark 60 years of DAYS.
Battle Lines Are Drawn
The aftermath of Thomas’ (Cary Christopher) accident led to Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) demanding to take him and Charlotte (Olivia and Oakley Rondou) away from Chad (Billy Flynn). Jennifer wants the kids to live with her and Jack (Matthew Ashford) in Boston.
Chad let Jennifer have it, letting his DiMera side shine through. Flynn and Reeves were amazing in this moment, as a custody battle seems to be on the horizon. DAYS fans sounded off after these heated scenes, revealing whether they were Team Chad or Team Jennifer.
An Unexpected Connection
It turns out that Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) does have a connection to Sami (Alison Sweeney) and EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel). Cat’s memory was triggered after listening to EJ tell the story of him being shot and recovering in Italy, as well as when she saw Sami at the hospital.
Fans learned that Cat used to read to a bandaged man while she was recovering from her own accident. Andrew (Colton Little) confirmed to Cat that she and EJ were at the same clinic in Italy at the same time. This makes Cat teaming up with Rafe (Galen Gering) to investigate EJ even more intriguing.
The Special Nod To Drake Hogestyn
John’s (the late Drake Hogestyn) bequest to the hospital for pancreatic cancer research was life-intimidating art. On-screen, the bequest was to honor John’s wife and Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) mom, Isabella (Staci Greason), who died from pancreatic cancer in 1992.
Over thirty years later, Hogestyn died from pancreatic cancer. The flashbacks of John and Isabelle as she was dying hit differently in light of Hogestyn’s death. Hogestyn’s absence from the 60th anniversary was glaring, so this moment was extra special.
More DiMera Family Trouble
The final moments of DAYS delivered another amazing Friday cliffhanger. First, fans saw Dr. Rolf (Richard Wharton) speaking to a cryo-chamber, and then a flip of the scene shows a kidnapped Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) coming face-to-face with a missing Tony (Thaao Penghlis).
All week long, Tony’s family learned he was MIA. Then, suddenly, Tony or perhaps Andre (Thaao Penghlis) was with Kristen in a room. Something’s brewing with the DiMera family, and it’s not going to be good for Salem; that’s for sure.
There were a few honorable mentions that week. Marlena (Diedre Hall) has another health scare in the middle of the hospital gala. Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) put up the Kiriakis estate to get a loan for Titan and Sami’s engagement to Dante Vitali.
