When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.

Days of our Lives: A Critic’s Week In Review

And just like that, Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) is a bad guy. I, Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus), and Days of our Lives devotees can’t have anything nice!

With Li’s sudden shift to the dark side – DiMera’s side? Is there a difference? – I’m beginning to think that that theory floating in the soapverse, the one that lays the blame for Abigail Deveraux DiMera’s (Marci Miller) death at his feet might have legs.

It’s quite possible that Abigail caught Li sneaking into the DiMera manse to check on Stefan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash), or perhaps she found Stefan herself during a hunt for Thomas DiMera’s (Cary Christopher) pal The Tooth Fairy and Li had to shut her up before she could share her discovery.

Either way, I’m not best pleased. The only good that I can conceivably see coming out of this is teaming up between Gabi and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) with the end goal of making Li pay dearly for his machinations.

Further DAYS Musings

* As I stated in my recap for Tuesday, August 9, 2022, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) is a poor excuse for a father. In fact, he might be the worst father to appear on Days of our Lives, and I’m counting Harper Deveraux, Stefano, and Orpheus (George DelHoyo).

What kind of father would leverage their kid to get their psychotic ex to back off his new relationship?

What do you think? Post a comment!

* Drooling over some rando dude-bro is not a good look for either Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) or Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold). Why am I expected to root for these two if their heads are going to be turned by every Tom, Dick, and Mary that walks by?

Speaking of Allie, what a low blow to use Henry against Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun). I guess hearing the truth about herself stung a little bit too much. At least we know that Allie is indeed Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) daughter.

* I love a good May/December romance, so I’m not going to complain if the Days of our Lives scribes see fit to pair Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Ava. I think that these two would sizzle where their respective past couplings have fizzled.

Add EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) into the mix as a spoiler, and I’d been doubly thrilled. When’s the last time this or any soap had a good old-fashioned love triangle involving a father and son? Didn’t those use to be one of the most genres most used tropes?

* Sexy sleuths Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) continue to tickle and thrill me.
