When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.
Though I couldn’t help but palm my face when Brady (Eric Martsolf) refused to be anything other than candid about what transpired between him and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk), I couldn’t help but appreciate hearing him declare “I’m not going to lie. The truth has a way of coming out.” How refreshing! Ditto his resolve to not have his daughter be put in a position to lie to him either.
Equally refreshing was DAYS remembering, and milking, the relationships between Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Paulina (Jackée Harry) and Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Rafe (Galen Gering). Kate is most certainly in need of a good girlfriend and Johnny has long been written as too islanded character.
I also have to say that the scriptwriters pulled a fast one on me with their linking of Whitley’s current breakdown to the time MarDevil was doling out deliciously damnable advice to Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) patients.
The one rub? While that might have happened during OUR 2021, it most certainly wouldn’t have in Salemverse…not if that one-year time jump took place in November 2019…which, apparently, we’re all supposed to forget about, because clearly Ron Carlivati and co. has.
* It was inevitable that Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) would conceive a child with Eric (Greg Vaughan), so I’m just going to look forward to all the dramatic (and hilarious) fallout that will surely come from Miss Petersen and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) being pregnant at the same time. I mean, can you imagine the quad always running into each other at the hospital on appointment days and attending the same birthing classes?
* Of course, Melinda (Tina Huang) was trying to bait Li (Remington Hoffman) into confessing to his crimes. Because we can’t have anything nice.
* Rachel Black has got to be one of the most annoying, frustrating, poorly behaved children ever seen on daytime TV. Just to look at her is to make even the staunchest anti-corporal punishment advocate reconsider. Kudos little Finley Rose Slater. You’re doing your job very, very well!
* Stacy Haiduk’s Kristen may grate the majority of the time, but I have to admit deriving a thrill from her interactions with Dimitri (Peter Porte). Adding Greg Rikkart AKA Leo into the mix wouldn’t go amiss.
* We seem thisclose to the finish line where Abe’s (James Reynolds) kidnapping ordeal is concerned, and I’m not going to be sorry when it does officially wrap.
