A Critic’s Review Of Days of our Lives: Flimsy Evidence & Golden Characters

When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.

Days of our Lives: The Critic’s POV

Where have all the smart and savvy in Salem slinked off to? Con artist extraordinaire Gwen (Emily O’Brien) would NEVER be taken in by the likes of smooth-talking Dimitri (Peter Porte) nor would the Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) I’ve come to know and love be so dumb as to hand her psychopathic brother potent blackmail material.

The Keystone Koppers are really living up to that denigration what with their declaring Abe (James Reynolds) dead on the flimsiest of evidence in a town where even the dead and buried can be back up and walking amongst the living in no time flat.

Thank goodness for Abe and Leo (Greg Rikaart). The former is at least intuiting that something is amiss even if he can’t quite put his finger on what exactly it is, and the latter has got Dimitri and Megan’s (Miranda Wilson) number, make no mistake.

It really says something [and that something isn’t complimentary] when your show’s shrewdest characters are an amnesiac and a nosey parker.

Further DAYS Musings

* Another round of Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker)? Um, no thank you! I’m good. Very, very good.

* Can/should a gathering of revelers be called a party if Tony (Thaao Penghlis) and Anna (Leann Hunley) aren’t in attendance?

* I’ve grown weary of the insufferable Johnny/Wendy/Tripp triangle. Clearly, Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) are the endgame — and if, by chance, they’re not then they should be because that’s where the chemistry is at — and this plot point is but merely an annoyance, a contrivance, an irritant that should be snuffed.

* While I applaud Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) and Xander’s (Paul Telfer) resolve to be open and honest with each other [Sarah will always be the one who got away as far as Xander is concerned; Chloe’s admittedly still feeling some type of way about Brady], I still can’t get behind the coupling. Sorry, not sorry.
