We here at Soap Hub are never shy when it comes to playing armchair headwriter – look no further than our near weekly ‘Wild Speculation’ articles for proof – and with 2023 fast approaching, a few of us couldn’t help but theorize what might be on the story horizon.
We were equally curious to see what you’d most like to happen to, or suspect is in store for your favorite — and perhaps least favorite — Days of our Lives characters. To all those who participated, I sincerely thank-you.
Below you’ll find a roundup of predictions/wishes submitted by fans and Soap Hub staff alike, including yours truly. Happy reading.
Days of our Lives — 2023 Predictions
Debra Gonzales (Days of our Lives Official Facebook Group)
Xander and Gwen reunite. * Kristen and Brady also stay together.
Pauline Trombley (Days of our Lives Official Facebook Group):
Eli and Loni come home to stay.
Denise Cotnoir (Days of our Lives Official Facebook Group)
Sarah reunites with Rex. * Kristen finally gets what’s coming to her. * Love Chloe and Stefan together.
Crystal Boyd (Days of our Lives Official Facebook Group)
Susan comes back like she had never died.
Sandra Leaming (Soap Hub’s Community Manager):
Jada and Rafe become an item. * Brady gives into his passion for Krafty Kristen. * Leo and Sonny, a hot couple turning heads in Salem.
Diane Brounstein (Soap Hub’s Editor-In-Chief):
Bo and Hope may kiss…but it will probably end up being the Christmas Miracle and even then it may just be a dream, leaving Bope fans steaming mad and wanting more
Sherrie E. Smith (Soap Hub’s Senior Editor):
The show will be revitalized by core characters returning and the canvas changing. * I hope to see a grand romance for Rafe. I hate him being a sad sack. * Ditto for Brady. * Would like to see Nicole actually evolve and learn something. * Hoping for a great storyline that John and Marlena can really sink their teeth in. * A return for Tony and Anna and more of Justin and Bonnie. * Susan will not be dead. She is too much fun not to utilize in Salem! * Would like to see the youngsters using their entrepreneurial skills and have more adventures and less whining.
Michael Maloney (Soap Hub’s Sr. West Coast Editor):
Somehow Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) comes back to life. Ditto Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk). Then, put a moratorium on ‘back from the dead’ storylines. Megan Hathaway takes her rightful place in the DiMera family. Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) charges in on a motorcycle to save Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) from Megan to the tune of ‘I Need A Hero.’
A Critic’s Predictions For Days of our Lives
Ron Carlivati and Co. will finally remember the time jump and take advantage of the possibilities offered by it. * Megan Hathaway DiMera (Miranda Wilson) ingratiates herself to several Salemites — and skates on a charge or three — by cryogenically freezing Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall), Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow). * The ailing, half-dead trio’s misadventures in Heaven capped by a reunion with several deceased loved ones and the revelation that Victor Kiriakis has passed on to the other side.
Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) recapture their rooting value. * In an upset, Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) is revealed to still be with child — Eric Brady’s (Greg Vaughan) child that is — she and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) enter into a marriage of convenience, and true love blossoms. * Eric gives Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) a run for her money in the “bad twin” department. * Under EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) malign influence, Nicole (Arianne Zucker) taps back into her bad side. * Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) and Sarah Horton Cook (Linsey Godfrey) reunite, but not before he’s impregnated Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien).
