The holidays aren’t very jolly right now in Salem, but that didn’t stop Ciara Brady from roaring back into town on Days of Our Lives (DOOL). The question it begs – is sweet Ciara gone for good or has life just got her down?
Basically, Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope’s (Kristian Alfonso) now adult daughter left Salem a sad sack and has returned a take-no-prisoners badass, complete with stealing her late father’s motorcycle to make her triumphant return.
Ciara (Victoria Konefal) comes by that chip on her shoulder legitimately, passed down from her father when he was about her age. And it’s not like she doesn’t have a right to lace into Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) every chance she gets. Claire did pull dirty tricks on her in the past.
The only thing is – Claire has done a little bit of growing up (not a lot but a little!) while Ciara was away and her genuine love for Theo (Kyler Pettis) has grown since he was shot and she realized sweating the small stuff was stupid.
Rather than try to get to know who Claire has become, Ciara is stuck in the past, angry at having been treated like a doormat. It seems like Claire is being groomed to be the young heroine with an edge, while her aunt is being made into the new bad girl in town.
In a not-so-subtle passing of the torch from Sami (Alison Sweeney), who approves of Ciara’s new rebellious streak, Hope’s daughter even witnessed a cheating moment between Rafe and Sami. Not exactly Sami seeing John and Marlena go at it — but close enough to scar her!
So, how will viewers react now that Ciara is the newly crowned Salem bad girl when she was such a delicate flower in the past? Considering who her parents are, hopefully, this version rings more true. Seriously, how could anyone expect Bo and Hope’s daughter not to have a wild streak in her? Anything less is just plain wrong!
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
