Ciara and Ben’s instant coupling was a Days of Our Lives shocker, but the chemistry test between the unlikely twosome is working big time.
Tossing Ciara (Victoria Konafel) in Ben’s (Robert Scott Wilson) path after he was released from a mental hospital was a bold move. He’s The Necktie Killer, a man who brutally strangled a trio of Salemites. She’s a troubled young woman dealing with the ramifications of rape.
It was the most imperfect of matches, a move that made no sense. Yet, from the minute Ben found the injured Ciara lying on the side of the road and took her to a cabin to heal, the improbable duo has been mesmerizing to watch.
Click, Click Hooray!
Something clicked with Wilson and Konafel in their very first scene together. It flowed ever so smoothly.
There’s a subtle undercurrent between the two actors that enhances their dialogues. They’re effortlessly in sync. Best of all, neither of the pair has been working too hard to make a connection. It’s just there, and it’s thriving.
Troubled Souls
While their plights are vastly different, Ben and Ciara are both troubled souls. He’s trying to come to terms with a horrifying past that was fueled by mental illness.
Now that he’s got things under control and been deemed sane, Ben’s desperate to make amends and become a better man.

Ciara’s trying to move past Chase’s assault. The awful night still haunts her and she’s consumed with thoughts that, perhaps, she could have done something to prevent it.
She’s trying to regain her inner strength and recapture the confident fearless young woman she used to be.
Mutual Understanding
Despite Ciara’s early and warranted reservations about Ben, she’s come to understand him during their time at the cabin.
She’s witnessed his softer side, as he’s nursed her back to health. Through their talks, she’s also come to believe that his desire to repent for his sins might indeed be genuine.
Meanwhile, Ben has seen Ciara at her most vulnerable, physically and emotionally. She’s shared her private thoughts about her own personal nightmare, and he’s responded with warmth and kindness. There’s a mutual understanding between the pair, and it’s intensifying every day.
