Yes, we know Daniel is dead and he did not have a one-night-stand with Chloe before that New Year’s Eve Days of Our Lives accident. After all, he was way too dedicated to Nicole.

But, what if Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) decided to do something totally wild and totally selfless and become pregnant with his child anyway–and then give that child to Nicole (Arianne Zucker)? Everyone knows Nicole has wanted nothing more than to be a mother, but her body has never let her carry a child to term. Clearly, Chloe CAN carry a child to term AND get pregnant. And, we all know that soap men have a habit of leaving sperm all around. For some reason, they just love to donate so they can become fathers over and over again.

So, Chloe knew just how distraught Nicole was after Daniel (Shawn Christian) died and wasn’t the only one to notice her best friend didn’t take that jacket off for weeks. What if she decided to make Nicole’s last dream come true and give her a baby–with Daniel? It’s possible that Chloe had herself inseminated with Daniel’s sperm soon after his death, but was maybe told the insemination didn’t work. And maybe, just maybe, that particular doctor was wrong.

Chloe did seem to have a pretty good idea on what happened after she learned the paternity test results. She definitely knew at that point who fathered the baby she’s carrying, and some hints from Ken Corday make us wonder if that baby was meant for Nicole after all.

This past summer, he told this to Glamour Magazine:

“I’m very excited about the story Nicole will have coming up with Chloe and Deimos and with Brady and another huge return from the past. Again, a big surprise, and a great part of Nicole’s past and life experience in Salem. It’s a baby story, and those seem to work well for us.”

We all know Nicole’s life experiences in Salem have heavily involved her desire to be a mother, and Corday’s quote makes this sound like Nicole’s baby story more than it’s Chloe’s. While we are purely speculating here, maybe this is the baby Nicole was finally meant to love and raise.
