Abigail’s certainly been through a lot in her relatively short life on Days of Our Lives (DOOL). The last few years have been especially harrowing, with a PTSD breakdown changing her life forever.
The Batty Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) fiasco is the most memorable Abby catastrophe. But, what about even farther back? Is it possible that Abigail’s (Marci Miller) alternate personalities aren’t really a new thing, but rather they have always been there? Soap Hub asked fans to weigh in on the question.
From the Beginning
After almost 3,000 votes were tallied, 55% of you believe it is definitely possible that Abby has had these other personalities helping her out for a long time now.
Considering all that she has been through and the many shocking things she’s done, it would seem that they were even more necessary in the past than they are now.
Sure, realizing she killed her good buddy Andre (Thaao Penghlis) in a fit of rage would be hard for anyone to deal with.
But, is it really any harder than having your midwife murdered after you give birth, getting chained to a bed with your beloved, and having the bed you’re in set on fire? Probably not.
So did one of the alters pop out then to help Abby deal with it and it just wasn’t as noticeable? Perhaps Dr. Laura? It’s certainly possible. What about her PTSD after it happened? Could those hallucinations have really been the work of another alter?
Making Their Debut
For 43% of you, there is no way they were here before – you would have realized it. Plus, Gabigail is so dynamic and different from Abby, you just know she’s brand new to Abby’s life. Ditto for Dr. Laura, who is the antithesis of Abigail with her thoughtful, think-first, act second attitude. That’s not your Abby!
Enough Is Enough
For a very vocal 1% of you, you don’t care either way – you just want this story over with. Some of the comments included ‘who cares,’ ‘stop this stupid storyline,’ and ‘this is one of the stupidest ideas you’ve burdened us with in a long time.’ You are ready for these alters to get integrated – right now!
