Bring Him Back ALIVE!!! Can Jack Please be DAYS’ New Phoenix?

It feels like we’ve seen more Matthew Ashford over the last few months than some contract players on Days of Our Lives. While we’re not complaining at the sight of our beloved Jack Deveraux, we would like to see a slight change. Rather than playing dead, can Ashford play alive?

Yes, we know we saw Jack die in an elevator accident and it looked like the real deal. But, how many times has death seemed like the real deal in Salem only to learn…it wasn’t.

Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) doesn’t just need a love interest. She needs her ultimate love interest and that will forever be Jack. She’s conjuring him up in her mind for a reason. He’s her other half and they complement each other more than anyone else.

At one time, half of Salem died and turned up alive on one of Stefano’s many islands. Heck, Stefano died more times than any DAYS fan can count, but somehow he always rose from the ashes.

This time, we know Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) is dead (ok, we THINK he’s dead), so Salem needs another Phoenix. While Andre (Thaao Penghlis) is being groomed as his father’s replacement, he’s already very much alive. So, someone else has to come back from the dead soon. Let it just be Jack since he’s hanging out in Salem so much as it is.

Every time Jack appears on our screens, we get a little giddy inside and remember that guy who kidnapped Jennifer on the back of a firetruck and got soaking wet at their rodeo wedding. It’s not fair that he just disappears just as quickly as he appears.

So, stop teasing us, DAYS, and give Matthew Ashford a contract already. With so many others returning to Salem this fall, can’t we just see Jack again–alive, well, and right in Jennifer’s arms.
