Soap Hub has learned that Jen Landon, best known to soap fans as Gwen Norbeck Munson on As the World Turns, is headed to Days of our Lives.
Landon will play a character who interacts with Nicole (played by Arianne Zucker, who recently announced she was leaving the show) and Brady (Eric Martsolf).
While Landon is going to DAYS, she’s not necessarily headed towards Salem — which supports the idea that the actress will make her first appearance on the NBC soap sooner rather than later since Nicole is currently on the lam with her daughter Holly.
Landon rose to daytime fame as scrappy heroine Gwen on ATWT; she won three consecutive Emmys for her work on that show in 2006, 2007, and 2008.
The last time she was seen on soaps was during her brief run as attorney Heather Stevens on The Young and the Restless in 2012. Landon joining the show was considered by many to be a big “get,” but her stay there was short-lived. Heather exited Genoa City following a creative regime change.
Since leaving Y&R, Landon has worked steadily, appearing in the 2015 thriller film I Spit on Your Grave: Vengeance is Mine. She’s also had ongoing roles on Animal Kingdom as Amy and Banshee as Lilith.
Landon is the daughter of the late TV legend Michael Landon (Bonanza; Little House on the Prairie). Her first TV credit is listed as “Little Girl in White House” in a 1989 episode of another of her father’s series, Highway to Heaven.
