Brandon Beemer has revealed a 2020 return to Days of Our Lives before, but it now looks like his character, Shawn Douglas, may be headed back to Salem even more than we originally thought — or is he?
Back to the Days of Our Lives Studio
While we already knew the actor would return to the screen in February of 2020, there was a hint that he was at the studio today. Beemer teased his return in an Instagram Story that shows him at the NBC studio where the show is taped.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll be seeing him in Salem sometime next spring or summer. No, we’re not playing word games here. He definitely seems to be shooting something — but it might not be traditional DAYS episodes. After all, Salem characters have been appearing elsewhere.
Another DAYS Offshoot?
Recently, fans have been able to watch Chad (Billy Flynn), Abby (Kate Mansi), and Austin’s (Austin Peck) adventures in Paris on the Days of Our Lives App. Could Shawn-Douglas (and Beemer) be doing something similar or even be helping them out with a mystery?

Anything’s Possible In and Out of Salem
The app has certainly helped the show keep casting more of a surprise. Sure, beloved actors may be back but it might not be in the way we used to expect — which keeps fans and the soap press on our toes. Considering how far ahead DAYS shoots at the moment, any extra leg up on shutting down spoilers has to please them.
Add to that the opportunity to raise interest in their new app it’s a win-win for the NBC soap. And with new ways to see more of our favorites — it’s a win-win for the audience as well. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
