Brandon Barash Shows Off His Ghoulish Days of Our Lives Exit

We knew Brandon Barash would be departing the role of Stefan O. DiMera for months (although the news was only confirmed weeks ago), but Days of Our Lives fans never expected it to go quite the way it did.

It seems pretty clear by mid-week that Stefan would step into the line of fire during a showdown between an on-the-lam Vivian and top cop, Lani. But, when he did, we never thought it would be so graphic… and that Stefan would get shot right through the neck.

It was a sight to see that left our collective jaws on the floor and one of the most memorable soap shootings in recent years. Thankfully, Barash was able to take it all in stride and remind us all of how his time on DAYS came to an end (for now?).

Brandon Barash tweeted a behind-the-scenes pic of himself with all that blood on his face and neck. Since DAYS is taped about seven months in advance, we bet he’s been keeping this little snap a secret for a while.

This week, Stefan will be declared brain dead and kept alive only via respirators. His heart will be a match for Julie, but the Hortons will have Gabi to contend with who doesn’t want to give up her husband… and especially his heart to a woman who treated her so badly for so long.

Of course, we have to ask, is this REALLY the end of Stefan? Dr. Rolf is a miracle worker after all and DAYS head writer Ron Carlivati already wrote a story for General Hospital a few years back where an organ donor turned out to be alive and wasn’t the organ donor after all… Days of Our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC.
