This week was big in Salem and in Days of Our Lives (DOOL) history — especially for Drake Hogestyn and his fans. On Wednesday, the talented actor celebrated a momentous milestone!
On January 24, 1986, Hogestyn debuted all wrapped up as The Pawn — hiding his true identity as John Black (well, actually Roman Brady at the time but that’s a long story), and DAYS writer/consultant Sheri Anderson, who was with the show at the time (and is again now), marked the occasion with a very special tweet, marking the day.
She said, “One of our most iconic castings appeared in Salem 32 years ago today. Proud to have been a part of this! And thrilled to still be writing for him today. Happy anniversary, Drake Hogestyn.”
The handsome actor was incredibly touched when he saw her tweet and responded, which you can see below. His TV daughter, Martha Madison (Belle), also saw the tweet and added her congratulations.
Soap Hub also sends huge congratulations and thanks for the incredible Salem memories John Black has brought us over these last three decades.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
