Yesterday, we learned Morgan Fairchild is joining the cast of Days of Our Lives (DOOL) and now we know who she will play.
According to Soap Opera Digest, Anjelica Deveraux is headed back to town after a whole 26 years away from Salem.
The role was originally played by recently retired General Hospital (GH) star Jane Elliot, and subsequently played by Judith Chapman (Gloria, Y&R), and Shelly Taylor Morgan, also of GH fame.
Anjelica arrived in town as Jack Deveraux’s step-mom, married to his adoptive father, Senator Harper Deveraux (who later turned out to be the serial-killing Riverfront Knifer because sometimes politicians are insane).
An affair with the younger Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) produced a son named Alexander, but Anjelica eventually wed Dr. Neil Curtis.
From the quote in Digest below, it looks like Fairchild’s time on DAYS is brief.
“I was thrilled to get to work with great folks like Deidre Hall Marlena and Judi Evans Adrienne on an iconic show like Days of Our Lives,” she said. “What a joy and what fun to come into work each day! We had a great time, I now have two new best friends and I hope the audience loves our storyline!”
