Ben Weston gave his blushing bride a huge surprise on Days of our Lives — a brand spanking new apartment. Oh, joy! Well, not really. Shopping around for a semi-forever home without your wife’s input seems more controlling than sweet, and here’s why.
Days of our Lives: What Was Ben Thinking
Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) is quite content in her little shack in the back of the garage, at least right now. She considers it her love nest and the first place she felt truly safe with Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) since getting her memory back. It’s her little haven, and it’s hard to say goodbye, especially since she wasn’t really given a choice.
DAYS: One Big Yikes
While we can understand Ben’s desire to move and get ready for baby CIN, he rushed the shopping around and didn’t take any of Ciara’s wants or needs into consideration. He hired an agent. He went with Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes), but that completey took Ciara out of the equation. Does Julie seriously have the same taste as her granddaughter? We think not.
On top of that, a pregnant woman is a nesting woman. She would have eventually come to her senses about living in a room when those instincts kicked into high gear. He took away the great pleasure of apartment hunting and getting a true feel for her baby’s perfect home. Instead, she just has to suck it up, swallow her very justified anger and disappointment, and live with what Ben wants.

Days of our Lives: We Hear Alarm Bells
While it all luckily worked out, it only did so because Ciara’s love for Ben is deep and strong, and she always sees the good in him. However, she’s missing the control he took away from her, and that red flag should never be ignored. While one can hope Ben’s intentions were nothing but pure, something isn’t sitting right, and we predict this is just the tip of the iceberg.
