For The Love of David — Should Rafe and Lani Pair Up?

There are worse things to bring two people together than loving a baby and wanting to do what’s right by him — so why shouldn’t Lani and Rafe get together and raise little David on Days of Our Lives?

Well, there is the tiny issue of Rafe (Galen Gering) being currently married to Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Lani (Sal Stowers) being in a relationship with Eli (Lamon Archey). Then again, it is Salem, so why should a little thing like that stop them? Soap Hub asked viewers if they agree and well… you were crystal clear on the subject.

Hard No
After almost 4,000 weighed in, a completely firm 91% said absolutely no way, no how, do you want to see Rafe and Lani pursue a love relationship.

That could mean any number of things like you love Rafe and Hope together too much or maybe you’re an Elani fan but either way, caring for baby David isn’t enough of a reason to blow things up.

And let’s face it — it’s not the healthiest thing for Lani to do after losing her own son with the same exact name (and the same age, had he lived).

This is an unhealthy obsession in the making and you’d rather see Lani go down a more better path with Eli. As for Rafe, Hope may come around with time. He should hold out for Hope.

Oh, the Possibilities
Of course, that means there’s still 9% who think this idea is a swell one! Why not? Hope — a grandmother to a young adult — is over the kid thing and Lani is still trying to mend her broken heart.

She’d do anything to help little David and Rafe could use all the help he can get. Love relationships have grown out of far less. Why not give this possible family a chance?
