It looks like the heir to the DiMera reign of terror in Salem isn’t going anywhere soon. Actor Thaao Penghlis just inked a new contract with the 50-year-old soap, meaning Stefano’s legacy lives on.
Penghlis took to social media late last night to make the announcement that he’ll be staying with DAYS for another two years.
My friends I have signed on DOOL for another 2 years. Thank u 4 being part of this wonderful & continuing experience I call home.

The actor created the role of Tony DiMer in 1981 and introduced Tony’s lookalike cousin, Andre, to the scene in 1983. Since then, he has played both characters on and off, with Andre eventually revealed as Stefano’s (Joseph Mascolo) son and not his nephew.
For the moment, Tony is still presumed dead, but since dead is never really dead in Salem, perhaps Penghlis will play both characters one day sometime in the next two years.
